Third Blog
I have finished another 100 pages in the book Pride and Prejudice. My prediction was correct. Mr. Darcy was in love with Elizabeth, and he did propose to her. However she rejected his feelings, in a way that could be seen as very harsh. Instead of letting the man down easily, she showed a great deal of disgust at the very idea of such a proposal. I personally think that her attitude towards him in that manner was rather undeserving of such an offer. Mr. Darcy put his very being on the line for this woman, and as a result she turned him down. Even though there is much evidence to support an idea that he got what he deserved, I feel a bit simpathic for him. Putting yourself in a characters shoes can really give you a better understanding of a character's feelings and emotions. One issue that was of particular interest of me during these 100 pages is the problem involving Mr. Darcy's role in seperating Jane and Mr. Bingley. Apparently instead of supporting his friends idea of marrying Jane Bennet, he tried his best to seperate the two parties. Even though Darcy's intentions might be good, I think that he went about the seperation in the wrong ways. He did not know enough ane to assume that she did not have the same feelings for Mr. Bingly as he had for her, and because of this I think Elizabeth is justified in being angry with him. He jumped to a conclusion and decided to ruin the lives of the people involoved because he thought one person was less faithful than the other. However I do not think that Elizabeth should be mad at Mr. Darcy because of what he did to Mr. Wickham. The reason why I think this is because she does not know both sides of the story. She only listened to what Mr. Wickham said and because of this she decided to hate mr. Darcy without his side of the story. This, I believe, is a great injustice. Despite the unlikely situation, I think that Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth will end up together in the end, and it is also probable that Mr. Bingley will be married to Jane.

i have this book at home and tried to read it long time ago. but i only read several pages and couldn't continue. it seemed boring and really hard. now that i see your blog, it seems fine and i should start reading again.Good job!
At first i thought u said "My prejudice is correct" ><" but in any case i liked how u summarized even what may seem kinda boring to appear kind of intriguing. And if ur prediction was correct the first time then i guess it wuld be correct the second time =D Great job xP
Wow that is some description of the book.... I think its giving the future readers of the book too much information, that it might become boring. But i do like your predictions.
I am amazed at how you can read such an intense story as it deals with love and hate. Such themes are rarely the topic of what i choose to read and find it spectacular at how you put two and two together. It seems to me that this summary of the story was very well thought out and clearly developed. Kudos to you.
Pride and Prejudice seems like an interesting book~ but the relationships between the characters seem a bit complicated. I agree with you, Elizabeth should have listened to both sides of the story before getting mad at Mr.Darcey. I like how you put alot of detail and predictions in your blog ~good job!!~
wow Goya Beans, you put much effort into this blog. =]
I think Lauren does have the right idea, the relationships between the characters are somewhat confusing and hard to grasp. But once you get into the story line, you get used to it.
You said, as I recall, putting yourself in a character's shoes shows that they were really feeling and thinking. Maybe thats what you should do with Elizabeth. Maybe she had a perfect reason for turning down Mr. Darcey's offer.
It;s not fair to side with Mr. Darcey if you don't know the whole story now. =]
again wonderful job on your entry.

It seems to me that this novel is a romantic type of book. Do you enjoy reading about romanticism? I wouldn't have selected this book if I knew it was b/c I'm not interested in those kind of books. I agree w/Angelico's comment. Is the novel only about the protagonist's love life or is there more to the plot? I like your lengthy descriptions in your posts; they explain a lot. Dynamite job!
I also read Pride and Prejudice and its a pretty good book. I do feel sympathetic towards Mr. Darcy, however he did somewhat deserve Elizabeth's harsh rejection because when he proposed to her he stated all her faults and all the reasons why he shouldn't marry her, he also insulted her family. I also agree that he did go about separating Jane and Mr. Bingley in the wrong ways, how could her know if Jane had feelings for Mr. Bingley?Elizabeth is also at fault however for misjudging him about the situation with Mr. Wickham, she shouldn't have believed him right away. Good job on your blog!!
I heard that was a really good book. I always wanted to read it but kept forgetting to get the book.
P.S. You write way too much for your blogs.
